Huddersfield Traders told no changes planned

A & K Hosiery have supplied traders in the market with socks underwear and gloves, for many years.
Kirklees Council has assured stall holders at Huddersfield Market there are no plans to change the market which is based on Brook Street.
As reported in the Daily Examiner concerns had been raised as the coucil confirmed that it was to close the famous Piece Hall market.
The markets are held under the grade two listed canopy in the Victorian Quarter selling household goods, socks and underwear, food, fabrics and hardware.

Talk-of-the-town TV star Ricky Gervais has caused a further stir by posing in chat show host Ellen DeGeneres’ golden underwear as reported in swns.com.
The British star who dominated the Golden Globes,decided to share his toned physique with the rest of the world after being been snapped in pair of tight gold underpants.
The article in swns.com reports US television legend Ellen DeGeneres, 52, asked him to wear them to the Golden Globes with this picture taken just before he popped his tuxedo on.
The picture of the trim comedian on the balcony of a Los Angeles hotel was uploaded by Twitter by Ellen – for her 5.7 million followers to stare open-mouthed at.
She told her fans to “Please enjoy this photo of Ricky Gervais in my underwear.”

Runcorn Market Closing Down

Runcorns market is closing at the end of January but stallholders vow to carry on trading.
Halton council is working to make sure all the traders currently holding stalls on the market are offered alternative premises.
Halton councillors pledged to ensure all 10 traders are offered alternative premises.
The board decided to close down the old town market because of the heavy loss per annum.
Runcorn and Widnes world carries on to report that traders have also been offered places on Widnes market.
Discussions are still in progress as the traders look at the pros and cons of the situation.
Clr Mcininerney stated:To be fair to the traders, they have remained very positive throughout this whole process. We have been working closely with them.
“We are confident this could be a fresh start for them.”

Cotton prices rose to their highest levels ever in August 2010 with prices in the U.S at around $1-$1.30 dollars
The article states long-term cotton futures now hover around $1, but Pima cotton prices are closer to $1.30.
That’s one reason big growth is expected this year in California. Nearly all the cotton planted there is the high-quality, extra-long fibre used in luxury sheets and towels.
