Wholesale socks and nightwear

December 20th, 2013

Christmas may be a time of Goodwill but it is also a time of extra spending. Sometimes this can be associated with rising costs.

A & K Hosiery, based in the North of England, are well accustomed to dealing with the seasonal rush as the big buyers stock up in bulk. A & K are cheap wholesalers of socks, nightwear, all-in-ones, vests, scarves, hats, gloves and much, much more. Sales are going through the roof this year with the online demand catapulting sales of cheap wholesale gloves, scarves and thermal wear to an extraordinary length.

However customers need to beware the rising cost of postage charges, especially from Royal Mail.

Most of us enjoy buying gifts for others and taking time to choose something appropriate. As online shopping explodes and expected to be higher than ever this year, we often look for the best bargains. Buying on Amazon and eBay, where buyers stock up in bulk from cheap wholesalers of socks, nightwear and other goods is extremely popular. Yet when a large postage cost is piled on top it can make customers wary.

We often spend more than we intend on presents for our friends and family; an unexpected postage charge to send to distant relatives or friends can be daunting.

As sending Christmas presents by Royal Mail this year could cost £18 more than using another delivery service, it may be a good idea to look around.

If online retailers can keep their prices low by ordering cheap wholesale all-in-ones and other items from warehouses like A & K, it defeats the object if you have to then fork out for a large postage on top.

If you are simply sending a small gift or a stocking filler type of item such as gloves, scarves, hats or socks, then Royal Mail is often the cheapest carrier for small parcels.

“A significant majority of parcels handled by Royal Mail are in the ‘small’ parcels range,” commented a Royal Mail Spokesperson. “Royal Mail offers the lowest price in the market for small parcels weighing up to 1kg.” Yet while some prices had risen in April, others had fallen.

Royal Mail goes on to say: “The price change will ensure Royal Mail offers the lowest price in the market for shoebox size parcels of up to 1kg in weight.”

Bulk purchase from cheap wholesalers of socks, hats, gloves, vests, tights and leggings may be the way that large online retailers can drive down their prices. It pays, though, to shop around for the deal in postage charges.
